GarageBand for Students

Students are digital. They think and act digital, and create in a digital environment. They need more digital work and projects to complete in the classroom.

GarageBand is one great program for utilizing the digital skills students have. With GarageBand, an application that comes with every Mac computer, students can record and import sounds to edit, remix, and then share.

A few of the great things students can do with GarageBand include:
  • Recording original music with instruments plugged into their Mac computer
  • Creating a podcast around topics covered in class or researched outside of school
  • Remixing songs or recordings to make something completely new
  • Record interviews and edit them to fit a targeted length
  • Edit together bird songs into similar species
  • Record family members telling important family stories to put together
  • Create audiobooks for younger students to encourage them to become excited readers
GarageBand is a great tool for creating fun and educational digital projects.
