GarageBand is an application that isn't always thought about in terms of classroom use. The intuitive place for it to be used is in Music or Band class, but that's not even the start of how it can used.
GarageBand can record any audio, whether its speaking to create a podcast that explains sophisticated Math problems, or import recorded sounds like a fire truck or ambulance to measure the amplitude of the sounds they make for Science, make the audio from a poetry session into an audiobook for Language Arts, record students talking through a great recipe in Home Economics for an upcoming Internet Radio cooking show, record conversations of Spanish Speaking people in the community for interviews to embed on a wiki, or recreate a famous speech or important historical event with sound effects to be played before a big test in Social Studies.
No matter how it's used, GarageBand is not just for music, its for everyone.
