When students sign up for a Mendeley account they can create a profile. This gives them the opportunity to share a little about themselves so they can easily find other students who share similar interests and ideas. It also gives others the opportunity to find them and discover any work they've created.
Students can use Mendeley to import any important or interesting papers (PDFs) and then highlight, annotate, or paste notes. They can also share a document with friends or classmates to look through a document together. This is great for group projects or research.
After downloading the Mendeley desktop application and then importing documents, students can start 'syncing' all their work to the Mendeley cloud server. This means students can access all of their papers (with highlights, annotations, and notes) on any computer or mobile device with Internet access. So, students wanting to continue work at home after the school day is over can jump on a computer and keep working.
Mendeley has plenty of great resources for students to learn how to use the program, but also has tips for completing research, writing papers, and submitting work for publication. Its never too early for students to get recognized for the work they complete!
