Pinterest for Students

Students want to share what they like. It could be their favorite movie, book, hollywood actor, recent artwork or poem, their favorite bright orange socks, or a good laugh. With so much content on the Internet it can difficult to collect and share everything a student likes.

Pinterest makes it easy to collect images, video, and other cool 'stuff' from the Internet in one place. Students can "Pin" what they like to their wall and see who else has done the same thing.

In the classroom, students can collect images for their next project. If it's on Photosynthesis, students can "Pin" lots of images of Photosynthesis, and it's stages, in one place. As they're presenting their project to the class, fellow students can view the images from the data projector, or click on them using their classroom laptop to find out more about each image. Classmates can find other images they think would be of interest and post them to continue the collection.

The same can happen with video. A student can create and upload a video of themself reading their new poem, then ask fellow students find similar video poems to "Pin." A collection of great poems centered around a topic are collected and used during the Poetry unit of Language Arts class.
