Students can download the Open Source software package and create their own site for one or all of their school classes. Creating separate sections for individual classes has the advantage of separating all files and content so that working in the Biology 101 section makes it easier to store, share, and access files dealing only with that class.
Students can also archive their work so that the Math 2011 section keeps all work from that class and year organized in one place. If a student wants or needs to retrieve a file from that class at a later date, everything is there when needed. Have you ever said to yourself, "I think I wrote a paper on this before, but I don't remember where it is or what I wrote." With Moodle you'll be able to search through classes and years to locate that file.
Moodle can serve as an online flash drive for students. No more worrying about leaving work at home, as long as the school has an internet connection, work is always easy to access. Students have the ability to email work to teachers if needed.
