DropBox for Teachers

There are a lot of uses for a web-based file hosting service like DropBox, that utilizes cloud storage so you can store and share files and folders over the Internet. Here are few ways a teacher could use this to make sharing resources in the classroom easier.

First, adding information and resources to a public DropBox folder makes it easy for students and parents to have access anywhere and anytime. Right-click the file in your Public DropBox folder and create a hyperlink on your website and anyone that clicks the link will automatically download the file.

Second, students complete their work and submit it to the class public DropBox folder whenever they're ready.

Lastly, the teacher can easily look through each students' work, which is all in one place, re-save each file and let students know that they can check their work in the same folder (if privacy is an issue you can email work directly to the student or enter their grade into your electronic gradebook with comments).

This method of sharing and submitting files and work can be applied in many other ways. The teacher can post a link for other files to download, including; videos, permission slips, handouts, flyers, lab reports, vocabulary lists, book club lists, syllabi, many more.

Use DropBox in your classroom for a clean, organized, and paperless way to complete assignments and tasks.
