DropBox for Students

Students don't want to carry stuff around with them. Well, most stuff. If you can text, post, share, surf, call, or make movie plans with it, they'll make sacrifices.

DropBox makes life easier for students because they don't have to carry their assignments around with them. It also creates few excuses for 'forgetting' to bring in work. Students can 'drop' their assignment into a DropBox folder and access it anywhere

Because it's a free web-based file hosting service, students can synchronize their files into the cloud and get to them whenever they need.

Students can use DropBox to:
  • Turn in homework to the teacher's public folder
  • Store files at school to access at home
  • Share a folder with group members to work on a project
  • Store files (images, video, documents, etc.) to post on their blog
  • Store work as an e-Portolio
  • Folders for each class and share them with teachers to submit work electronically
  • Use the hosted files to help with an online yearbook
  • Save audio files to stream online
  • Synchronization means files created on an iPad will be saved for use on the home desktop
  • Sync iTunes so your music is anywhere (if teacher allows you to listen while you work at school!)
  • Keep class notes so you'll have them at home or on vacation
  • Share a work folder with parents so they know when work is complete or in progress

DropBox gives students the opportunity to store all of their work in one place and access it anywhere. No more USB Flash Drives or emailing work to yourself, DropBox does it all for you.
