82% of Americans Have Cell Phones

Yesterday we featured a video from PBS Teachers about Digital Media and 21st Century Learners. We asked if you permit digital devices, such as cell phones and handhelds, in your classroom. It's interesting to note that back in 2007 reports showed that 82% of Americans owned cell phones. If this much of our population not only use these devices, but depend on them, how can we teach students how to use them in an effective and productive manner if they're banned in schools?
