TED-Ed in the Classroom

As a middle school Science teacher it was often challenging to find just the right video to go along with a lesson or topic. I'm a firm believer in delivering content in as many different ways as possible (audio, video, text, demonstration, experimentation, discussion, and more) to maximize the number of times students hear information (hopefully more than 7 times) and the way that each student best receives and understands new 'stuff.'

TED-Ed is a relatively new resource that follows some of the same ideas. Created by the wildly successful TED conference creators, the Ed is an extension of their mission to share "ideas worth spreading."

TED-Ed has a great, and growing, video library filled with educational videos for many subject areas and topics. With many talented educators teaming up with selected TED animators, the videos are great quality and help teach even the most difficult topics.

Look through their catalog of videos in four main categories:
Subject areas are broken down into The Arts, Business & Economics, Design Engineering & Technology, Health, Literature & Language, Mathematics, Psychology, Science & Technology, and Social Studies.
