It was, however, a pleasant surprise to hear lots of young people swimming and having a good time. After a little contemplation I realized it was Saturday and began to smile. The kids in the pool were having so much fun and it made me think back to earlier days when Saturdays were sacred because you could sleep-in, watch a few cartoons, and then run outside to do things like going swimming at the local pool. You cherished those times because you knew they didn't happen as often as you would like.
Watching those kids helps to remind me that life is precious and each moment is an opportunity to cherish. As my wife and I often discuss, if you're not happy with what you're doing, change it. Do something else. Do what you love. When you were younger and loved to go to the pool, what did you dream of becoming? Are you doing that now? Every moment is precious, why not be doing what you've always wanted?
