In 2010 SlideShare was voted in as one of the World's Top 10 Tools for education and e-learning by the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies. SlideShare is a web-based slide hosting service that allows users to share their presentations.
Students and teachers can use SlideShare to continue learning and teaching after leaving the classroom. Students can watch/view the teacher's classroom slides at home to fill in what they may have missed, or simply to review before starting homework. They can also look back as far they'd like to review past lessons, making chapter or unit study sessions more convenient.
Teachers have the ability to teach and learn. Uploading their presentations gives students and colleagues the opportunity to learn, even if they're not physically close by. Colleagues can view lessons and make comments on what they've learned or recommend to make it better.
Administrators can also get in on the conversation, viewing teachers' presentations and giving feedback without having to be in the room to disrupt any learning. Administrators can also share and embed presentations on the school or personel websites to highlight activities in the classroom.
Although SlideShare is primarily a slide hosting service, users can also upload documents, PDF's, videos, and webinars. Making it a one-stop-shop for Presenting Yourself and your work.
