Learning is fun. Just watch a five year old play with crayons, or walk through a forest. Their eyes light up when they discover something new. Our job as teachers is to do what we can to not get in the way of that learning and curiosity.
Edmodo is one way for learning to be fun as students move in to the stage where the Internet plays a role in their learning. For some, this is first grade where visiting websites can help teach basic math skills. For others, it's finding a tool that organizes all the websites, resources, and articles they use most, into one place.
Students can use Edmodo's fun features, like storing and sharing content (videos, word files, websites), starting discussions on topics that interest them, keep track of assignments and projects within the calendar, and manage their personal library of all the things that are useful.
Edmodo can be used as an essential tool for classes all year long, or as a tool for a project(s). A group of students can collaborate on a large project where Edmodo stores all their files and folders (which can be shared privately within the group or publicly with others), keeps track of important due dates and timelines, and includes mobile access for students with mobile devices.
Edmodo is a one stop shop for any students' digital classroom needs.
