Aviary for Students

As a middle school teacher I wanted students to create really cool digital stuff (videos, music, photos, etc.), but I didn't want to spend a lot of time explaining how to do it. Aviary makes it easy for teachers to show students some simple, but powerful digital editing/creation tools to create cool digital stuff around classroom content.

With it's suite of online applications, Aviary is a digital one-stop-shop. To improve the learning curve and enhance understanding of ideas and concepts, students can:
  • edit images they take in Science class with helpful explanation arrows, labels, and measurements
  • place edited images into a slideshow with their own original music
  • update old photos of historical figures to reflect how they might look today as part of a Social Studies lesson
  • create a weekly audio podcast explaining current Math problems
  • upload and enhance home photos to make yourself a superhero and then record the story of how you got your powers for a Language Arts project
  • record yourself making your favorite cake and add recipe information and cooking directions through the video for Home Economics class
  • get together with a few Band class buddies and make a music video and edit all the audio with Aviary

There are many more ways students can use Aviary for educational purposes. The limit to creativity is in their imagination, but look through the popular creations of other Aviary users.
