Skype

Skype allows you to make voice and video calls over the internet with your computer, cell phone, tablet, or other mobile devices. Skype-to-Skype calls are free while traditional land-line connections are available on a per call charge basis.

Over the years, Skype has added instant messaging, file transfer, and videoconferencing features. Users are able to send text messages and share files while video chatting. Recently, Facebook added Skype integration for video chat with Skype while logged in to Facebook.

There is an estimated 663 million Skype users, as of 2010. Headquarters for the company is located in Luxemburg

According to Wikipedia, Skype has been banned from corporate, government, home and education networks because of inappropriate usage of resources, excessive bandwidth usage, and security concerns.

We recommend trying it for yourself to see what all the fuss is about!
