The Summit Church

My wife and I recently moved to Raleigh, N.C. and we absolutely love the area! Fast growing, lots of job opportunities, greenway parks, shopping and churches!! We both come from a strong Baptist background, so we began searching for a new church that had those qualities in the Raleigh/Durham area. We have been blown away by The Summit Church. Just like the Raleigh area, it's also fast growing, lots of opportunities to join and serve and it feeds our spirit like we've never experienced before!

Well, I know what you're thinking, this is a digital learning and productivity blog, why mention The Summit Church? Well, other than simply wanting to share my faith, this church is amazing in the amount of resources it creates that revolve around digital learning of the gospel. Their productivity and organizational ability as a large body of people is also amazing. Their website is new and fresh and makes everything about the church available in an online format. Every service is done in a professional manner. Whether it's greeting newcomers, ushering folks into a comfortable seat, having coffee and light refreshments at the front ready and waiting and starting the service at the exact time scheduled is something most organizations and individuals can learn a lot from.

In his sermon yesterday, Pastor JD Greear, discussed the fact that The Summit Church is the 16th fastest growing church in the country and has the most members sharing the gospel outside of the United States than any other church in the country. How's that for productivity. The best part of the sermon, though, was not the accomplishments, but the fact that as the church grows we need to focus on the reason we're here, Jesus Christ. He preached from 2 Samuel 24 and the fact that David asked God for forgiveness for becoming arrogant over the size and strength of his army.

Pastor JD Greear is an amazing preacher, organizer, visionary and good guy. Please visit The Summit Church if you'd like to find out more and watch some of the sermon's for yourself. You can also visit JD's blog to hear his weekly thoughts or find him on Twitter for instant access. Thanks for visiting and God Bless. :)
