Blogging

Last week we wrapped up an explanation of CATCHsystem by describing Where CATCHsystem Came From and earlier this week we talked implementation. We’re moving on to discuss more ways that students and teachers can increase digital learning and productivity. One of the best ways is to start a Blog. Blogging is way to share information that you’re interested in. Just like YouTube allows users to upload videos, a Blog is a way to upload thoughts and ideas, connect with others that share similar interests, and contribute to overall good of the web. Blogs are a great way for students to increase learning, not only sharing with each other, but other students and communities of learning around the blogosphere. Blogger and Grade Two teacher Kathleen Morris has been blogging with her students down in Australia. She has noticed benefits, such as:

    -Improved literacy
    -Confidence
    -Appropriate online behavior
    -Sense of classroom community
    -Global connection
