Businesses are already putting out fall school supplies, even though it seems as though school just let out. Is it because they're trying to get parents and students to commit to buying earlier and earlier each year? Or, is it that as I grow older time moves at a different pace?

No matter how you answer those types of questions, a new school year will begin soon. What are we going to do different this year to make things better? Incorporate new technology tools? Try out some teaching strategies? Test out a new lesson plan or activity?

Whatever you choose, just involve students. Let them know you're trying something new. Tell them you're not sure exactly how it will turn out, but you'll all learn something in the process. As long as you're trying, especially for their sake, they appreciate it.
